This blog is for anyone who cares about the planet. Covering everything environment related, from savvy shopping, and tips for reusing, to rising ocean levels, and the decline of the honey bee.

For now, the main focus is rainforests, the plants, trees, animals and people, as well as the plight they (and the rest of planet earth) face due to deforestation. This is because I’m travelling to Borneo to volunteer in the rainforest.

I’ll be working with the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation at the Samboja Lestari Project near Balikpapan in East Kalimantan. This is an amazing project covering 2000 hectares of previously destroyed land. The charity works closely with the local people to educate, regenerate and protect this beautiful area and the diversity of species living there.

As well as being a stay-at-home tree-hugger, I’m also a wannabe wine connoisseur and newly vegetarian meat-eater (more on this soon; it makes sense, I promise!)

Please feel free to ask questions and suggest topics! I’d love to know what you all think.x
